Angels Get Close Win Over Astros
|
Houston wasted a solid 6-inning effort from starting pitcher Robbie Ray, losing to Los Angeles, 1-0, at Minute Maid Park. Los Angeles reliever Chaz Roe was the winner. His record is now 7-1. The losing pitcher was Tony Zych. The Angels bumped their record to 87-68 with this latest triumph.
The Angels got a big at-bat from left fielder Andre Ethier. For the game, Ethier was 1-4. In the top of the ninth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 15th hit of the season gave Los Angeles a 1-0 lead.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Ethier.
