Tigers Bang Out 7-3 Win Versus Kansas City
|
The Detroit Tigers downed the Kansas City Royals, 7-3, at Comerica Park. The Tigers were led by Elias Diaz, who captured player of the game honors. He was 4 for 4 with a double and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. With the win, Detroit goes to 76-80, while the Royals fall to 69-87.
The Tigers got a big at-bat from left fielder Aaron Altherr. For the game, Altherr was 1 for 4 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. In the bottom of the seventh, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 31st double of the season gave Detroit a 5-3 lead.
