Puello slugs 2 home runs as Red Sox Squeeze Past Baltimore
|
The Boston Red Sox downed the Baltimore Orioles, 4-3, at Fenway Park. Cesar Puello led the way, going 2-for-3 for Boston. The win was credited to Nick Vincent in relief. His record improves to 4-2. Justin Wilson took the loss. Edwin Diaz notched his 39th save in 42 chances.
Puello had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 2-1 fastball from Justin Wilson, he banged a 2-run home run to center, giving the Red Sox a 4-3 lead. It was the 13th home run of the year for Puello.
"I felt good up there," said Puello. "I saw the ball well."
The Orioles, at 60-97, have lost 5 in a row.
