The Tampa Bay Rays beat the New York Yankees, 5-3, at Tropicana Field. The Rays got a fine performance from designated hitter Neil Walker, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Keone Kela notched his 20th save in 21 chances. The Rays bumped their record to 88-69 with this latest triumph.

Walker had a big at-bat with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the first inning, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Rays went on to win.

Walker told the Tampa Bay Daily: "Sometimes the big stage is not big enough for me."
