Mariners Trip Rangers in Extras
|
Safeco Field was sent into a frenzy with a walk-off win.
Seattle right fielder Tyler O'Neill made his presence felt in the 5-4 Mariners triumph over the Texas Rangers. O'Neill went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times. Seattle's record now stands at 67-92, placing them 4th in the American League West Division.
O'Neill had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the 11th. On a 1-0 fastball from Nick Goody, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Mariners a 5-4 lead. It was the 17th home run of the year for O'Neill.
"To not win that game stings a little bit," said Texas manager Eric Ferraro.
