Angels Squelch Indians Offense in Shutout Win
|
Los Angeles Angels starter Stephen Strasburg was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Cleveland Indians, 3-0. Strasburg got the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 3 hits and walked 1 over 6.1 innings. Strasburg allowed no earned runs. Aroldis Chapman got credit for the save for Los Angeles. It was his 3rd of the year.
The Angels got a big at-bat from right fielder Wil Myers. For the game, Myers went 1 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Los Angeles a 2-0 lead.
"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Strasburg said.
The win gives the Angels a record of 3-3.
