Giants Clip Dodgers, 4-3
|
The Giants faced a stiff challenge from Los Angeles pitcher Kevin Gausman, but persevered to claim a win at AT&T Park. The final score was 4-3. Gausman went 6 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. The winner was Ryan Tepera in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Sam Freeman took the loss. Chris Devenski earned the save for San Francisco, his 2nd of the year.
Dustin Pedroia, who is a four-time Great Glove Award winner, chipped in for San Francisco with a 2-run single in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 runs batted in.
"We did a lot of things right," said Pedroia.
The Giants, now 6-2, have hit the ground running this season.
