|
The Cleveland Indians knocked off the New York Yankees, 7-3, at Yankee Stadium. Jacoby Ellsbury, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Cleveland won. The center fielder was 2-4 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Cleveland, now 14-19, holds third place in the American League Central Division.
Christian Yelich hit a 2-run triple off Walker Buehler in the top of the second, which put the Indians in front, 3-1. Yelich had 1 walk, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 1 for 3.
"I was able to barrel up some pitches," said Ellsbury.
