Angels Slip Past New York, 8-7
|
New York first baseman Jose Abreu was sensational. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 3, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Los Angeles beat the Yankees, 8-7. Abreu was named the player of the game despite the loss. The Angels bumped their record to 90-73 with this latest triumph.
Mike Zunino chipped in for Los Angeles with a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth. For the game, the catcher had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 3 runs batted in.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Zunino said after the game.
