Nationals Top Blue Jays in World Series
|
It was a hard-fought battle for both teams to make it this far. But as the saying goes, "to the victors go the spoils." For the victorious Washington Nationals, that meant the Major League Baseball World Series trophy.
The Nationals took a 4-3 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays at Rogers Centre, winning their 1st championship after taking the series 4-3.
"We've got grit," said Nationals left fielder Marcell Ozuna, who was named MVP of the series. "We know how to win when we have to."
The new titleholders completed the regular season with a first-place finish in the National League East Division and a 96-66 record.
