Padres Win Tight National League West Division Race Sunday, September 30th, 2018 The San Diego Padres kicked off what they hope is the first of many celebrations tonight, after having clinched the National League West Division. Championship success is uncharted waters for the Padres, as the club has yet to win a World Series. "We know what it takes, we just have to put ourselves in that position to win it," said starting pitcher Justin Verlander. The club's record currently sits at 90-71 and the division win is the 6th in team history. Team owner Ron Fowler said it was "an extremely proud day to be at the head of the Padres." |
