Thrilling Win Pushes Philadelphia to Next Round Thursday, October 4th, 2018 The stakes were high at Great American Ball Park today as two Major League Baseball clubs looked to advance in the quest toward the World Series. In the end, the Philadelphia Phillies knocked off the Cincinnati Reds in the Wild Card Game, by a score of 14-3. After the one-game playoff win, the team will move on to the Division Series. "We never stopped believing," said Philadelphia left fielder Giancarlo Stanton. "All season long we expected to be going deep in the playoffs and we still feel that way. We're going to be a tough team for anyone to handle in the playoffs." Stanton went 4-for-6 in the win and took home the game MVP award. Brad S, manager of the Reds, said he was proud of his club's efforts and said he believed that, with a few more breaks, it could have been his club advancing. The Philadelphia Phillies will play against the Milwaukee Brewers in the next round. Milwaukee had a bye in the Wild Card Game. The Division Series is scheduled to begin on October 5th, 2018.
