Nationals Win Division Series Wednesday, October 10th, 2018 The Washington Nationals didn't hold back their excitement after beating the San Diego Padres in the Division Series tonight. Members of the team rushed onto the field and celebrated joyously when the victory became official, with a 3-0 win moving the club on to the League Championship Series, clinching a 3-1 series win in front of the PETCO Park crowd. "This isn't the big one, but of course we need to get through this before we can win a World Series, so it's an important step," said Andrew Benintendi as he took a break from celebrating. "Our guys are happy and excited to be moving on." Benintendi was named series MVP, as he hit .500 with a .556 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 1 RBI and scored 1 runs. On the other side of the diamond, there was desolation. Many members of the Padres sat stone-faced in their dugouts, simply watching Washington celebrate. The Washington Nationals don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Milwaukee Brewers - Philadelphia Phillies series. That series is tied at 2 games apiece.
