Marlins Deal Arrieta to Mariners for Ruiz Tuesday, July 31st, 2018 The Marlins and Mariners pulled the trigger on a deal that will see 32-year-old RHP Jake Arrieta and 23-year-old minor league 2B Robbie Tenerowicz head to Seattle in exchange for 19-year-old minor league LHP Adrian Morejon, 20-year-old minor league SS Gavin Lux and 20-year-old minor league C Keibert Ruiz. A source close to Miami officials said "The teams spent long hours coming to the agreement and in the end, both agreed the deal should help both clubs." Miami will retain a portion of Arrieta's remaining contract. Up to now Arrieta has compiled an ERA of 3.38 with a 9-9 mark over 23 starts. He has 117 strikeouts in 133 innings and has held opponents to a .256 batting average. |
