Cubs Honeywell Named NL's Best Pitcher Saturday, September 1st, 2018 Brent Honeywell hasn't been around the big leagues long enough to know that youngsters shouldn't be winning National League Pitcher of the Month. But when you put up numbers like his, you're going to get some notice. In August the Chicago starter earned a 5-1 mark in 6 starts. He threw 35.1 innings, struck out 36 and compiled a solid 2.80 ERA. This season Honeywell has a 10-7 mark in 17 starts with a 2.66 ERA. He has given up 91 hits in 101.2 innings, struck out 83 and issued 21 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .237 batting average against him. |
