Marlins Out of Time, Out of Playoffs Saturday, September 8th, 2018 After a tough year, the Miami Marlins have been the butt of jokes around many water coolers in the Miami area. There will be some new fodder for jaded fans to discuss now -- the club was officially eliminated from playoff contention today. The Marlins have missed the playoffs 23 times in their 25 years as a Major League Baseball franchise. This playoff miss is the club's 15th in a row, with their last postseason appearance coming in 2002. Miami has won the World Series 2 times in their history. |
