AL Player of the Week, Morales of Minnesota Monday, September 10th, 2018 A battle-tested Kendrys Morales declared war on opposing pitchers last week, attacking the ball like the well-schooled veteran he is. Today the 35-year-old Minnesota first baseman collected the American League Player of the Week Award. He wrapped up the week with a .680 average, 17 hits in 25 at-bats, 3 home runs, 8 RBIs and 3 runs scored. This season Morales has delivered 122 hits in 398 at-bats for a .307 average with 30 home runs. He is getting on base at a .360 clip and his totals also include 78 RBIs and 59 runs scored.
