Diamondbacks Edge Past Blue Jays, 12-11
|
In a high-scoring game between Arizona and Toronto, right fielder Socrates Brito was a difference-maker. The 26-year-old earned player of the game honors in the 12-11 Arizona win. He went 3-6 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Dillon Tate got credit for the win, improving to 1-2. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. The Diamondbacks, at 34-31, have now won 4 straight.
Zack Short had a nice at-bat for the Diamondbacks with two out in the top of the 11th. With the bases loaded, the shortstop drew a walk, driving in 1 run, which would prove important in the Arizona win.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Brito said. "We did a good job of that today."
