Pirates Win at Milwaukee, 7-3
|
Milwaukee second baseman Jeff McNeil had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 7-3, to Pittsburgh at Miller Park. McNeil went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. Pittsburgh is now 27-37.
Pittsburgh used the timely hitting of Jason Kipnis to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the first inning to put the Pirates on top, 3-0. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
In postgame comments to the Pittsburgh Gazette, Kipnis said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
