Loss to Indians Extends Toronto Losing Streak
|
Cleveland designated hitter Jung-ho Kang was instrumental in his team's 6-3 win over the Toronto Blue Jays. Kang went 2-3 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Indians. Cleveland reliever Brad Brach was the winner. His record is now 3-0. Robbie Erlin took the loss. The current losing streak for Toronto has reached 7 games.
In the top of the fourth, Cleveland first baseman Matt Carpenter had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 1st and one out, Carpenter stroked a 2-run home run to right. It made the score 2-0, Cleveland. For the game, he was 1 for 3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"The fans pay the tickets and help us do what we do, so we like to put on a show for them," Carpenter told the Cleveland Daily News.
