Blue Jays Get Road Win, 5-3
|
The Toronto Blue Jays knocked off the Baltimore Orioles, 5-3, at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Travis d'Arnaud, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Toronto won. The catcher was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Kendall Graveman got the win, improving to 6-4. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 6 hits and 1 run, while striking out 3 and walking 1. Ken Giles notched his 3rd save in 3 chances.
One important at-bat for Toronto came with two out in the top of the fourth inning. With a runner on 1st, d'Arnaud hit a 2-run home run, which contributed to the Blue Jays win.
d'Arnaud called the triumph "a good team win."
Toronto is in last place in the American League East Division with a record of 45-69.
