Late Rally by Yankees Secures Win
|
The Toronto Blue Jays got a superb performance from third baseman Aledmys Diaz. Still, it wasn't enough to beat New York. The Yankees won the game, 5-4. In spite of the loss, Diaz was named the player of the game. He was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk. Wade Davis got the save, his 20th in 22 chances. Toronto has now lost 4 in a row.
Anthony Rendon was vital part of the New York win. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the ninth with one out, Rendon hit a run-scoring single. It made the score 4-3, in favor of the Yankees.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Toronto manager Ryan Hicks.
