Hit Parade: Santander Gets Cycle
|
It was a quite a day for Anthony Santander at Rogers Centre.
He hit for the cycle, belting out every kind of hit there is -- a single, double, triple and home run. The Seattle right fielder accomplished the rare feat during his team's 5-4 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays.
"I never even thought about hitting for the cycle and what do you know, I did it," he told BNN reporters at the postgame press conference. "The cycle really doesn't matter to me, it's the win that's important."
Santander went 4-for-5 in the game with 1 run batted in and 2 runs scored.
Anthony Santander doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, tripled in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off Shelby Miller in the 10th.
Santander is hitting at a .244 mark this season. His stats show 11 home runs, 32 RBIs and 29 runs scored. He has played 73 games for the Mariners.
