Rendon Helps Yankees Run Win Streak to 3
|
The New York Yankees knocked off the Toronto Blue Jays, 7-0, at Yankee Stadium. Anthony Rendon, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason New York won. The third baseman went 3-4 with a home run and a triple. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. New York starter Zack Greinke was credited with the win after throwing 104 pitches over 6 innings. His record now stands at 17-7. New York now has a 3-game win streak.
Rendon contributed a productive at-bat in the bottom of the first. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was one at-bat among others that helped New York get the win.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Rendon told the New York Gazette. "It's as simple as that."
