Almost There: Toronto On Cusp of LCS Triumph After 5-4 Win
|
The Toronto Blue Jays moved to within one game of the World Series today, downing the Texas Rangers on the road at Globe Life Park in Arlington by a score of 5-4. Blue Jays left-hander Clayton Kershaw was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 6 innings of 5-hit ball. The win gives the Blue Jays a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 League Championship Series.
Toronto grabbed control in the top of the sixth. With no one out and the bases empty, Josh Bell delivered a solo home run, to make it 3-2 in favor of the Blue Jays.
"Things aren't going great right now," Texas manager Eric Ferraro said. "But you don't need me to tell you that."
The next game is scheduled for tomorrow. Slated to start are Nathan Eovaldi for the Toronto Blue Jays and Jon Lester for the the Texas Rangers.
