Marte Goes 5-for-5 Against Atlanta
Wednesday, September 11th, 2019
It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Ketel Marte, it came around today.

The 25-year-old shortstop scattered hits all over Citizens Bank Park to pace the Philadelphia Phillies to a 4-3 victory over the Atlanta Braves.

Atlanta skipper Tyler Rumpel told reporters in the press room that "Marte deserves a hat-tip."

"He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Marte hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit."

Ketel Marte tripled in the 1st, doubled in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.

Thus far this season Marte has hit .280 with 11 home runs, 42 RBIs and scored 73 times.
