Great Day for Colon -- 5 Hits Thursday, May 23rd, 2019 Albuquerque second baseman Christian Colon had a big day at AutoZone Park today against the Memphis Redbirds. The 30-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-5 and led the Isotopes to a 13-3 triumph over Memphis. "Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Colon said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all." Christian Colon doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, walked in the 7th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. For the year Colon is batting .211 with no home runs, 9 RBIs and 15 runs scored. |
