Guerrero Jr. Torches Cubs for 5 Hits Wednesday, June 5th, 2019 No matter what the Iowa Cubs threw at him today, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit it. He easily handled Cubs pitching, going 5 for 5 and helping the Stripers to a 10-5 triumph at Principal Park. "The way I was swinging today, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball," he told BNN reporters in the postgame interview. Told of Guerrero Jr.'s quip, Cubs skipper said he "would take him up on that next time." Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit a sac fly in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Dillon Maples in the 6th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th. For the year Guerrero Jr. has hit at a .396 clip with 47 RBIs, 19 home runs and 49 runs scored. |
