Veteran Rodriguez Hits Three Dingers
Monday, July 1st, 2019
Players don't hit three home runs in a game very often and when they do, it is something to celebrate. After today, Sean Rodriguez can celebrate.

The Albuquerque Isotopes third baseman powered three into the stands at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark today against the Oklahoma City Dodgers.

"It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run," Rodriguez told reporters after the game. "Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today, I was really trying on that last one."

In all, he was 3-for-4 as the Isotopes toppled Oklahoma City by a score of 11-0, knocking in 4 runs and scoring 3 times.

"He is blessed with a natural home run swing," Albuquerque manager said. "He gets the ball up in the air."

Sean Rodriguez hit a two-run home run off Adbert Alzolay in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Adbert Alzolay in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Cody Poteet in the 6th, flied out in the 7th and walked in the 9th.

This year Rodriguez has socked 34 hits in 136 at-bats for a .250 average with 13 home runs. He is getting on base at a .360 pace and his totals also include 27 RBIs and 27 runs scored.
