Swing! Swang! Swung! Alonso Smashes 3 HR Saturday, July 6th, 2019 Albuquerque first baseman Pete Alonso led the Isotopes to a 7-4 triumph over the New Orleans Baby Cakes, crushing three home runs. "He's scary good when he's swinging the bat like that," said Albuquerque skipper . Indeed, Alonso put up some "scary good" numbers: three homers, 4 hits in 5 at-bats with 3 runs and 5 RBIs. "I'm just thinkin' about winning ballgames," Alonso said. "When you think about home runs, you very seldom get 'em." Pete Alonso singled in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Eric Skoglund in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Matt Magill in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off Yimi Garcia in the 9th. For the season Alonso has hit .327 with 21 home runs and 49 RBIs. He has played in 56 games and scored 47 times. |
