Yes, It's a No-No by McWilliams Tuesday, July 30th, 2019 El Paso Chihuahuas starter Sam McWilliams came up big today at Southwest University park with an exceptional 5-0 outing against the Reno Aces. Not only did he whip them, but McWilliams held them hitless, too. "My arm was a bit sore in warmups," confessed McWilliams. "Sometimes you go out there and you're not feeling all that hot. You get into the game and all of a sudden in the seventh inning you look up and see the scoreboard and think to yourself, 'Oh, my goodness, I have a no-hitter!' You're so focused on what you're doing, it just happens." In the course of the no-hitter, McWilliams collected 5 strikeouts and surrendered no walks -- a day good enough to get his name in the history books. In 16 starts this year McWilliams has crafted a 6-5 record and a 3.72 ERA. |
