Bergen Wins Award for PC Dominance
Thursday, October 10th, 2019
Travis Bergen was a calming influence out of the Gwinnett Stripers bullpen this season.

His teammates and manager said he had a poised demeanor about him that was typical of someone much older and more experienced. His poise has paid off, as the 26-year-old turned in a sparkling season and has been named the winner of the National Conference Reliever of the Year for 2019.

The McDonough, Georgia native won the award with 2 saves in 36 relief appearances, 63 strikeouts in 41.2 innings and a record of 4-0 to go with his 1.08 ERA.

He received 19 first place votes out of a possible 30. Matt Wivinis of the Colorado Springs Sky Sox finished second in voting with 8 first place votes, while Trevor Bettencourt of the Albuquerque Isotopes finished third with 2 first place votes.
