Mike Soroka Top PC Hurler Saturday, October 12th, 2019 The Memphis Redbirds have a rising superstar or maybe even a budding Hall-of-Famer in the making. It's Mike Soroka, this year's National Conference Outstanding Pitcher Award selection. This blossoming hurler wowed fans, peers and sportswriters with a fabulous performance. Soroka compiled a 11-9 record in 28 starts, tallied 169 strikeouts in 179.1 innings and recorded a 2.91 ERA. Other clubs managed only a .249 batting average against him. He received 20 first place votes out of a possible 30. Lewis Thorpe of the Louisville Bats finished second in voting with 3 first place votes, while Ben Rowen of the Louisville Bats finished third with 6 first place votes.
