| Contreras Helps Cubs Run Win Streak to 3 | The Chicago Cubs grabbed a 7-1 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park. Chicago catcher Willson Contreras was 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 to earn player of the game honors. The Cubs bumped their record to 30-22 with this latest triumph.
Contreras had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the sixth inning, when he hit a 2-run double. The Cubs went on to win.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Contreras told the Chicago Bulletin.
