Reds Drop Brewers with Late Score
|
Cincinnati and Milwaukee duked it out at Miller Park and the Reds came out victorious.
The Reds had to overcome a good performance from Milwaukee pitcher Collin McHugh to claim a 8-6 win at Miller Park. McHugh went 5.1 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Ken Giles notched his 29th save in 31 chances.
The Reds got a big at-bat from catcher Yasmani Grandal. For the game, Grandal was 2-5 with 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs. In the top of the eighth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 88th hit of the season gave Cincinnati a 7-6 lead.
"It was a solid team effort," said Grandal after the game.
The Reds bumped their record to 78-49 with this latest triumph.
