Multi-HR Day for Abreu as Yankees Overpower Orioles, 15-4
|
The New York Yankees topped the Baltimore Orioles by the score of 15-4, with the largest share of the credit going to first baseman Jose Abreu. Abreu went 3-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Yankees. Walker Buehler got the win, improving to 7-15. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 4 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 4. The Yankees bumped their record to 85-68 with this latest triumph.
The Yankees got a big at-bat from right fielder Enrique Hernandez. For the game, Hernandez went 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 12th home run of the season gave New York a 4-3 lead.
"We take it day by day here," said Hernandez, "and today was a good one for us."
